learn spanish fast

When you first decide that you want to pick up Spanish, you start to think about how much interesting it can be to converse in a new language. However, you may quickly realize that it might not be as easy as you perceive it to be to get started.  Here are several tips to help you learn Spanish fast:

1.Decide how you learn best.
Everyone learns differently.  Textbooks are great for some, but not for others.  Some people learn by attending a foreign language class.  Others probably learn better from watching video tapes.  Decide which way works best for you.  You may want to try a combination of methods to help you master the language.

2.Build your vocabulary.
When you begin to learn Spanish, it´s best to begin with the vocabulary. Begin learning Spanish words and phrases that are used commonly.  Once you have a clear understanding of what means what in Spanish, it will be easier for you to put the words together into sentences.

3.Master the grammar.
This is extremely crucial.  When you learn Spanish, you need to be sure to learn Spanish grammar as well.  If you are not familiar with the grammatical styles of the language, you will have a difficult time expressing yourself correctly.  Every language will conjugate a verb, but it is done differently through the use of grammatical rules unique to the language.

4.Pick up the slang.
You may be surprised to discover that many people do not correctly speak their native language.  If you are not familiar with the slang, you may have a difficult time grasping what someone is saying.  For instance:  “He ran off at the mouth’ does not mean he ran on foot away from a mouth of something.  It´s easy to say things that you do not mean if you don´t understand the slang.

5.Converse in the Language.
This is, after all, the point of wishing to learn Spanish, but here, this means to practice speaking the language whenever possible.  If you know anyone who speaks Spanish, try to practice speaking with them as often as possible.  You will be able to pick up inflections and intonations you can´t learn from a textbook.  You will also pick up vocabulary, grammar, and slang this way at the same time.

6.Invest in a course on how to learn Spanish
There are many programs available today that quickly teach you the Spanish language and you can learn Spanish quickly right from the comfort of your own home.  There are courses available online and through a medium such as DVD´s or audio tapes.  Check out these products, especially if you are unable to attend a class in person.

If you want to know how to learn Spanish quick, make use of the above tips.  While you may have some problems getting started, you will be well rewarded for your efforts.  Not only will you be able to speak another language, you will then be able to help other in their quest to pick up the Spanish language.

Learn Spanish Online

Filed under: Spanish Language - 05 Dec 2008

learn spanish fast

You can learn Spanish quick online, or at least the fundamentals. After all, you do get what you pay for. Surprisingly, some of the websites offering you the opportunity to learn Spanish free online have fairly well designed material. Some of them are more or less comparable to courses costing a lot of money.

In this article, we will look at the quality of some of the websites where you can learn Spanish free online, and compare them with some of the well-known commercial Spanish tuition courses in the market.

By the time you have read this article, you will have all the information you need to determine whether you will benefit best from a decision to learn Spanish free online, or from a decision to purchase one of the many successful Spanish courses selling in the market.

Many of the sites that come up in a search engine query for “learn Spanish free online” don’t actually offer a totally free learning experience. This is not to say that they are deliberately misleading visitors, or acting in any way improper. They usually do offer free lessons, but often they are limited or very basic, concentrating on basic phrases that most people already know.

Some of the sites claiming that you can learn Spanish free online don’t actually tell you the whole story. You will find that you can pick up Spanish free on the Internet, but only so far. Once you find yourself in the swing of learning, wishing to take the next step, you may find that you have to pay for it.

Is it possible to learn Spanish free online to a stage where you can converse fluently with someone whose first and only language is Spanish? It is definitely possible, but it could be a bit of a struggle, though it would certainly depend on your aptitude. Even purchasing the best Spanish learning course in the market wouldn’t automatically teach you Spanish if there is no significant effort and commitment on your part! That is just how it works.

If you are determined to learn Spanish free, then seek out websites that don’t immediately pitch you with their paid version of the course. Some sites do offer extremely useful learning materials. They often have words recorded that you can click to hear the precise pronunciation. This is truly helpful and is highly recommended.

However, for people who are serious about learning Spanish, and who wants to be certain that the materials they use are only of the highest quality, then the option to learn Spanish free online is certainly not an option. Among the many good Spanish courses available online, one outshines the rest - Rocket Spanish.

The Rocket Spanish website offers you all you really have to know, but it is sometimes wise to hear what others, especially satisfied customers, have to say as well. Seek out some of the review sites on the Internet, especially sites that offer a balanced report, and not just an all-glowing report.

While it’s definitely possible to learn Spanish for free on the Internet, and learn it well too, it’s usually much more convenient to learn the language through a respected course. You will find dedicated support this way, should you need it, and you probably will. If you decide to pick up Spanish free online you will probably find that there is no support whatsoever. The choice is yours!

Lets Get Started

There are two distinct methods you can use to learn Spanish on the web.

1.) You can learn a lot from free videos on YouTube as well as MP3 podcasts available at different sites online.

2.) Paid membership and software sites that are designed to teach you conversational Spanish fast.

While the free videos and materials available can take you so far they can’t really get you to a point where you’re able to ask important questions in Spanish or pronounce words correctly, unless you have some previous Spanish education.

Lets Get Conversational

For anyone wanting to learn Spanish on the Internet quickly your goal should not be memorizing a big vocabulary of Spanish words. Instead you should focus on learning phrases and sentences that are used in every day life. The best way to do this quickly is to use a video or software program that teaches you to say phrases that are important in every day life.

To learn conversational skills consider a software program like Visual Link Spanish. Spanish Courses For Kids

Filed under: Spanish Language - 28 Nov 2008

learn Spanish quickly

Spanish courses customized for kids teach children Spanish in an interesting and easy way. It doesn’t go into grammar and syntax in a direct manner. Children, like most adults, would become bored in no time if they had to tediously conjugate regular and irregular Spanish verbs. Spanish for kids avoids all that, but still manages to teach the kids the basics nonetheless.

Children have the ability to learn Spanish fast. The younger a child is when they are initially exposed to a language, the sooner they are able to learn it. A five-year-old could learn pretty good Spanish in a matter of a couple of months, while a twelve-year-old might take more than six months. It is also dependent on their exposure. If they only hear Spanish in school, but not at home, they will take longer to learn.

Children are able to learn Spanish quickly. They soon find out that Spanish for kids shows them Español es un lenguaje fonético y la pronunciación es muy clara. Unlike English where the ending, “ough” for example, can be pronounced at least six different ways, in Spanish the pronunciation is clear, straightforward and phonetic.

In general, the second to last syllable is where the emphasis goes, unless the word has a letter with an accent on it. The word, “farmacia” has the emphasis on the second “a” as there is no accented letter. The word, “problema” has its emphasis on the letter “e.”

But when there is an accented letter, it gets even easier. You simply place the emphasis of the word on that letter. For example, “fútbol” is that ever-popular ball game, or soccer, as it is known in the USA. The emphasis is naturally on the emphasized letter “u,” and sounds more or less the same as the word in English. Another instance is the word for “plastic” that is spelt as “plástica.” Without the accented first “a” it would be pronounced as “plastEEca.”

Spanish lessons for children should be fun. Remember, it shouldn’t have been too long ago that they begun learning English. This is why kids they are able to adapt so fast; they are always learning so much daily that another language is something they take in their stride without batting an eyelid.

If you are teaching a child who have not learnt how to read yet, then you should make them engage all their senses, if possible, to learn the language. Computers are great for this in many ways as they can see diagrams and animations as well as hearing the language.

Employ your house pet too. Your children will find it funny to call the dog “un perro,” or the cat “un gato.” Needless to say, they have to get the genders right as well! If the dog and cat are female, then they will become “una perra” and “una gata” respectively.

Generally, the younger the child is when they are first exposed to Spanish, the sooner they will be able to learn it. If you make the learning fun, children wouldn’t view it as a tedious chore every day. Also, teach them helpful phrases, such as, “may I have a glass of milk?” (¿Puede darme un vaso de leche?), and begin using them in every day speech. They will take to it naturally. Spanish lessons for kids can be easy and fun too.
